On this day, one year ago, my life changed.

I lost my Mother.

It was the worst day of my life, and at the time, I didn't see how I would make it through. I'm proud to say that I am not the worst thing that has ever happened to me.

I survived her passing. I've learned from it and I'm healing. It's a process but each day gets a little better.

There were so many personal stories in this book that I was not going to tell and the following excerpt was one of them. I decided to go ahead and share it because it may help someone in a not so great financial situation.

I often say therapy was the best gift my Mother gave me. She knew I needed an outlet and she found a way to provide one for me. Before my Mother got sick, we had a rocky relationship. In my book, Her Imprint: Lessons in love, relationships and womanhood as taught by my Mother, I recount the time that my Mother and I went to therapy.
