The Story Behind the Book
In Her Imprint: Lessons in love, relationships and womanhood as taught by my Mother, Tenecia Nicole writes about the joys, the pains, the lessons and the loss of her Mother. It’s a true story, as told from Tenecia’s point of view.
After her Mother passed, Tenecia found herself asking the question ‘Who I Am, Without My Mother’ and it took her a year to start finding the answers.
In the year since her Mother’s passing, Tenecia has learned to embrace a new normal, redefine her life and heal during the process.
This is a story that is dedicated to Tenecia’s Mother but it’s also a story she dedicated to herself. She survived the worst thing that had ever happened to her and she’s finally strong enough to tell her story, in hopes of helping someone else.

On this day, one year ago, my life changed.
I lost my Mother.
It was the worst day of my life, and at the time, I didn't see how I would make it through. I'm proud to say that I am not the worst thing that has ever happened to me.
I survived her passing. I've learned from it and I'm healing. It's a process but each day gets a little better.
Today I've decided to release another excerpt from my book, Her Imprint: Lessons in love, relationships and womanhood as taught by my Mother. This excerpt was difficult to write but I hope it helps someone else.
This excerpt from Her Imprint: Lessons in love, relationships and womanhood as taught by my Mother, was hard for me to write. I cried as I recalled the memory and the emotion behind it, but I hope it helps someone understand that Mother's know best and God does all things well.
There were so many personal stories in this book that I was not going to tell and the following excerpt was one of them. I decided to go ahead and share it because it may help someone in a not so great financial situation.

In my book, Her Imprint: Lessons in love, relationships and womanhood as taught by my Mother, I recount the time that my Mother and I went to therapy.
This part of my book, Her Imprint: Lessons in love, relationships and womanhood as taught by my Mother, was rough. I cried while writing it but I hope it helps someone else.
I'm not sure how or why this story dropped in my spirit but I took the prompt and decided to include it in my book, Her Imprint: Lessons in love, relationships and womanhood as taught by my Mother.
