MY STORY IS LONG...
It’s filled with twists, turns, dark days, lonely nights, a few serendipitous moments, phenomenal people, a stroke of genius and a plethora of opportunities along the way. I learned a lot of lessons along the way and I finally decided to put pen to paper to share my journey.
A few years ago, I was an EdTech cofounder, YesWeCode Mentor, avid Community Builder and naive business woman. I made bad deals, invested time and money into the wrong resources and I had absolutely nothing to show for it except a stressful lifestyle. I was emotionally, financially and mentally stuck so I decided to pivot and become a funding coach. I didn’t really believe that I was ready to become a coach and as a result, I couldn’t get anyone to hire me. So found myself being stuck again. Shortly after being stuck for the second time, I met a great author, read an incredible book and pivoted my way to success. I realized that I could take content from a book and visually communicate the content to my social media audience. My idea worked and I accidentally became a digital brand strategist, until I was unexpected terminated by my biggest client.
After being terminated, I had to adjust and I became a teacher. Being a teacher opened my life up in more ways than one. While I was responsible for teaching my students, little did I know that they would end up teaching me. My students taught me technology tricks that ended up using for my podcast Beyond the Bookshelf and they taught me how to publicly grieve. Durning my time as a teacher, I lost my Mother to breast cancer and losing her was the worst experience of my life. Almost year after her passing I decided to write a my first book, Her Imprint: Lessons in love, relationships and womanhood as taught by my Mother and host my first event, Books & Brunch.
My life is still taking its share of twists and turns, but I’m still standing, still growing and still becoming the woman that I’ve always wanted to be.
